Junior Winner: Alyssa Archiletti |
Riley Paper Doll Design Contest Winners
Fresh and creative, these winning paper doll designs by our readers remind us dolls are about fun.
Helen Kish, the creator of the Riley doll, designed a delightful
Riley paper doll for the many fans of the "urban toddler of the 21st
century." But since Riley has been keeping Helen busy night and day,
Helen asked our readers to help by creating two outfits for her paper doll.
We were thrilled by the top-quality designs we received. If we had the space,
we truly would have declared each one a winner. Reading the kind notes that
often accompanied the submissions just added to our pleasure. Truly, thank
you.

Collector Winner: Jennifer Jo. Fay |
After much debate and deliberation (we had to sort out a three-way tie!),
we proudly announce our winners. In the Collector Category, Jennifer Jo. Fay
of Essex, Vt., took first place, and in the Junior Category for ages 17 and
under, 14-year-old Alyssa Archiletti of Largo, Fla., came in first. Both will
receive a Riley doll from Kish & Company. Jennifer and Alyssa's
winning designs appear here, as do the designs from our two runners-up in the
Collector Category — Catherine Hanson of Riverside, Calif., and Diana
Eufrasio of Roselle, N.J. We'll also be posting these designs on our Web
site, www.dollreader.com, along with
seven more contestants whose wonderful work made the final 10.

Enjoy them all, and may we all feel a bit easier in the knowledge that
Riley the paper doll now has plenty of great outfits to wear. "I
spent a lot of time on my designs," said Alyssa, the Junior winner, "but I had
a lot of fun." Alyssa's comments sum up the experience for all of us.
