In 1956, American actress Grace Kelly, who starred in unforgettable films like “High Noon” and “Rear Window” and won an Academy Award for her performance in “he Country Girl,” married Prince Rainier of Monaco. Kelly, who died in 1982, has long embodied 50's elegance and class, and so it’s no surprise that Barbie and her wardrobe take a cue from this fashion icon.

Earlier this year, Mattel announced the release of its Grace Kelly collectible dolls as part of the Barbie Collector series, each doll wearing a gorgeous dress designed by Robert Best and inspired by the American actress and Princess of Monaco's unforgettable outfits.

To Catch A Thief Barbie Doll ($34.95), released in June, wears the famous one-shoulder blue gown and chiffon stole complete with matching clutch that Kelly's character wore in the Alfred Hitchcock film.

Grace Kelly The Bride Doll ($175), released in August, wears Kelly's infamous long-sleeved white gown from her wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco. The dress features a fitted torso with a row of pearl buttons down the front, a long tulle veil trimmed in lace, and a small ivory prayer book in one hand and a Lily of the Valley "bouquet" in the other.

Grace Kelly The Romance Doll ($135), released in October, wears a black floral-print dress, re-created after the one she wore at the 1955 Cannes Film Festival when she met Prince Rainier for the first time. From an "easy to sew" pattern the actress modeled for McCall magazine, the dress features long sleeves and a tight bodice that flares out into a full skirt and is styled with a coordinating headpiece and navy pumps. The outfit also comes with a blue coat, matching dress, and wide-brimmed hat, scarf, sunglasses, gloves, and bouquet of white violets.

Rear Window Grace Kelly Doll ($34.95) is inspired by gown Kelly wore in the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock film, “Rear Window.” Released in November, the doll wears a sophisticated black and white dress, complete with V-neck bodice and calf-length chiffon skirt, a faux pearl necklace and earrings, chiffon shawl, white gloves, and black heels.

Like the actress herself, Mattel's Grace Kelly series captures the simplicity of style and that sense of old Hollywood glamor of which Kelly is known for. Perfectly poised and forever fashionable, Kelly perhaps said it best in "Rear Window":
"A woman never goes anywhere but the hospital without packing makeup, clothes, and jewelry."
