MATERIALS
• Less than ¼ yard of lightweight woven fabric
• Small sew-on snaps
• Thread to match fabric
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. Sew the darts on the pants front and back and press toward the side seams.
Step 2. Clean finish the back opening edges of the pants back using a narrow zigzag. Press the edge under ¼ inch on the right side.
Step 3. Double fold and press under the left back opening.
Step 4. Sew the pants front together at the center front seam. Trim the seam down to 1/8 inch; clip the curve and clean finish. Press the seam to one side.
Step 5. Sew the front to the backs at the side seams. Trim the seams down to 1/8 inch and clean finish. Press the seam toward the back.
Step 6. Press a ¼-inch strip of interfacing to the inside of the hem edges. Clean finish with a narrow zigzag and press the hems to the inside.
Step 7. Sew the center back seam up to the clip. Clip the curve; trim the seam down to 1/8 inch and clean finish with a zigzag stitch.
Step 8. Match the ends and sew the inseam. Trim the seam and clean finish.
Step 9. Fold up the hems and finish by hand. Finish with a sew-on snap at the waist.
