Instructions
Blouse:
1. Sew the darts in the blouse front; press. Finish the front opening edges with a tiny zigzag stitch. Press under along the line indicated on the blouse front pattern.

2. Sew the front to the back at the shoulders. Press seam open. Staystitch and clip the neck and armholes.

3. Finish the hem edges of the sleeves. Evenly gather 9 inches of the sheer lace trim and sew it to the finished hem of the sleeve.
Press under the edges of the fabric sleeve band and apply it to the center of the same length of double edge ruffling to cover the gathering stitches down the center of the ruffling.
Stretch and sew the elastic to the wrong sides of the sleeves to gather down to about 4 inches.
Apply the prepared ruffling to the sleeve by tacking at each side edge.

4. Prepare a 5-inch piece of the ruffling for the loose neckpiece. Fold the ends under and finish with a snap. Cut a bias strip 1 x 5 inches, press one long edge under ¼ inch. With right sides together, sew the raw edge of the strip to the neck edge. Fold the ends under and fold the pressed edge to the inside. Finish the inside edge by hand.

5. Gather the cap of the sleeve and sew the sleeves to the blouse. Sew the sleeve and side seams. Finish the seam edge.

6. Finish the hem edge of the blouse. Press under ¼-inch and stitch hem. Apply snaps to the opening of the blouse. Sew the buttons down the front.

Skirt:
1. Mark and sew the darts in the skirt front and back. Clip the dart centers and press toward the side seams.

2. Sew the front to the back at the side seams.

3. Follow steps 1 and 2 to assemble the skirt lining. Sew the lining to the skirt along all edges, leaving a turn opening in one of the back opening edges.

4. Trim and clip the waist edge and clip the curved hem edge. Turn the skirt right side out and press all edges. Finish the turn opening by hand. Overlap the back opening edges and finish with snaps.
